THE LAUNCH PARTY FOR THE MUSIC CD
"THE IVY CEILING"
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS STING, RUSSELL SIMMONS,
AND CAST MEMBERS FROM BRAVO TV’S "THE REAL HOUSE WIVES OF NEW YORK"
On August 6th Bruno Jamais Restaurant Club in New York and PR firm KMR Communications, Inc hosted the launch of Lokah Music’s "The Ivy Ceiling" CD featuring the talented artists SRI Michael and Uma Nanda.
Lokah is the collective creation of two artists-- Sri Michael and Uma Nanda Saraswati. Lokah's debut release, The Ivy Ceiling merges the ancient Indian art of Kirtan with modern musical styles of the 21st century, fusing east and west in a melodic tapestry. Sanskrit Mantras and highly textured beats coalesce in a cross-cultural expanse of sound. Roderick and Anisa Romero of the Seattle based underground band, Sky Cries Mary, are featured on backing vocals.
Legendary producer Russell Simmons is featured on a spoken intro on track 1 and Sting performs the hauntingly beautiful"Ma Durga" on track 3. Celebrities at the event included: Sting, who arrived with his wife Trudie Styler, Russell Simmons, cast members " Real Housewives of New York"- Countess Lu Ann De Lesseps, Jill and Bobby Zarin, Ramona and Mario Singer, Alex Mc Cord and Simon Van Kempen, and the newest addition to the show, Kelly Killoren Bensimon. Cruiserweight boxing Champion BJ Flores was also in attendance. Over 500 members of the media enjoyed the event. Per Sting’s request, guests were served vegetarian only canapés and the champagne flowed endlessly. Upon Sting’s arrival, a usual blasé media crowd went wild, and three security guards had to be called in to shield him from the throng of paparazzi. This evening was a precursor to a special night for Sting. The following evening was his last public performance ever with the Police. Guest received gift bags filled with luxury beauty, health and fitness products as well as copies of the CD"The Ivy Ceiling." Proceeds from a raffle benefited PETA, one of Sting’s favorite charities.
